Privacy Policy — Minimalist Inventory

Minimalist Inventory (“we”, “our”, “the app”) is a personal inventory management app developed for iOS and iPadOS. This privacy policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and your rights as a user.
Short version
Minimalist Inventory does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. All your inventory items, categories, and notes are stored locally on your device only.
1. Data we do NOT collect
The app does not collect, store on remote servers, or transmit to any third party:
- Your name, email, phone number, or any contact information
- Your inventory items, categories, locations, or notes
- Your photos or images attached to inventory items
- Your device identifiers, advertising IDs, or analytics IDs
- Your location, contacts, calendar, photos, microphone, or camera data
- Your usage patterns, behavior analytics, or crash reports
- Any form of in-app purchase history (there are no purchases)
The app has no user accounts, no login, no sign-up, and no authentication of any kind.
2. Where your data is stored
All inventory data you create is stored locally on your device, in a JSON file inside the app’s private Documents directory. This directory is:
- Not accessible by other apps
- Included in your device’s iCloud Backup (if you have iCloud Backup enabled for the app)
- Deleted automatically if you delete the app
- Never uploaded to any server by the app itself
The app does not use iCloud Drive, CloudKit, Firebase, or any cloud synchronization service.
3. System permissions
The app does not request any of the following iOS system permissions:
- Push notifications
- Camera
- Microphone
- Location services
- Contacts
- Photo library
- Bluetooth
- Background app refresh
- Tracking (App Tracking Transparency)
The app’s only network usage is the standard iOS system frameworks; the app does not initiate any outbound network requests of its own.
4. Third-party services
The app does not integrate with any third-party service, SDK, or analytics provider, including but not limited to:
- Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, or Mixpanel
- Facebook SDK or Meta Pixel
- Crashlytics, Sentry, or Bugsnag
- Any advertising network (AdMob, AdSense, etc.)
- Any social login (Sign in with Apple, Google, Facebook, etc.)
5. Children’s privacy
The app does not collect any data from anyone, including children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your country). The app is safe for all ages.
6. Your rights
Since the app does not collect any data from you, there is no data to:
- Request access to
- Correct
- Delete from a server
- Export to a third party
You have full control over your data at all times:
- View / edit your inventory directly in the app
- Delete any item, category, or location at any time
- Export your data as a JSON file via the iOS share sheet
- Erase all data by using the “Clear All Data” option in Settings, or by deleting the app
7. Data security
Your data is protected by:
- iOS app sandboxing (the app’s data is isolated from other apps and the system)
- The device’s built-in encryption (when a passcode/biometric is enabled)
- Optional iCloud Backup encryption (controlled by your Apple ID settings)
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. If the changes are significant, we will mention them in the app’s release notes.

10. Effective date
This privacy policy is effective as of 2026-06-25 and applies to all versions of Minimalist Inventory from 1.0.0 onward.
This privacy policy is provided in English. Translations to other languages may be made available in the future.
